The Competition Commission of India (CCI) helps to maintain competition in Indian market which helps in reducing the price of good and services or maximum choice to the consumer in the market. CCI also inquires dominating position of companies and anti-competitive agreement. Recently, the CCI founded that Google is using his dominant position in wrong way through his search engine result page. Google has a dominant position in Indian market because of larger market share and reputed MNC of the world. Google is discrimination in online search and online advertisement service in the Indian market. This complaint filed by Matrimony.com and Consumer Unity & Trust Society (CUTS) in 2012 against Google LLC, Google India Pvt Ltd and Google Ireland limited ( Google ). In the investigation, CCI founded that Google is liable for wrongly using his dominant position to show his search results in a discriminatory manner. It’s doing for gaining market access that’s why CCI decided to impose fine on Google at the rate of 5% of average total revenue generated by Google through its Indian market. Google will have to deposit fine within 60 days from the date of the decision of CCI.
